Tell Me I Can Sing

Sometimes when I ask a question I don’t just want the truth

and when I sing though it’s all off key,

please tell me I can sing.

 

Sometimes love is just keeping each other peace

and just saying what they what to hear,

please tell me I can sing.

 

Sometimes you’re unsure of how to answer

and love is knowing when and what I want,

please tell me I can sing.

 

Sometimes you have missed the mark

and I have thrown false strops,

please tell me I can sing.

 

Sometimes you tell me ‘Babe please stop!’

and sometimes I choose to listen,

but even then when you’re annoyed,

you still tell me I can sing.
